70. Commando

Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in Commando as John Matrix, a retired military bad ass who has made a zillion enemies, including a gang led by a ruthless mobster (Dan Hedaya) and his henchmen.  They kidnap his daughter (Alyssa Milano) and hold her for ransom… which is for Matrix to kill the President of a South American country so the mob can run amok.  A stooge named Sully (David Patrick Kelly) is appointed to watch Matrix, but is obviously unable to contain the beast that is Matrix!  From there its a demolition derby with machine guns and rocket launchers… but can Matrix save his daughter before its too late?

On the surface, this is obviously a typical 80’s action film with tons of unintentional humor – which is RIGHT up my alley.  Schwarzenegger might be as wooden as ever, but he still makes me laugh and its always a treat to watch David Patrick Kelly on screen.  Personally, I was surprised and pleased with the sufficient amount of explosions and laughter.  Recommended if you need a night of mindless but enjoyable 80’s entertainment.
