Considering myself a hardcore filming location geek, I find no bigger joy than locating a scene that is obscure, or perhaps extremely challenging to find. Naturally, LOST’s final scene where Jack dies in the bamboo forest was an intriguing location to track down.
Unfortunately, I for one don’t know if I found the correct spot here, but it sure as hell atleast felt like it. There is a lot of conflicting information on the web as to where this location exactly is, but I have surmised that it was surely filmed off Nuaanu-Pali Drive north of Honolulu-and that’s where I explored. See for yourself…
I took a few steps down a trail, hopped over a little creek, and found this little nook in the woods which felt like Jack Shephard might come stumbling out at any minute.
Either way, it would be very impossible to locate the exact spot where the final scene in LOST was shot, as it was filmed with absolute secrecy. If this isn’t it, it’s the closest thing to it and exactly how it looked in the film, complete with the stream! I forgot to photograph that amongst my excitement. D’oh!
