As a child watching the series in 1990, I absolutely loved the Log Lady and would even draw cartoons of her when I was in third grade. She was so kooky and weird, and aside from Agent Cooper my favorite character. It’s a shame that Twin Peaks only visits the Log Lady’s cabin once (in episode 5). Anyway, the filming location used as her cabin sits on the top of an anonymous southern California hillside, and the deck smelled like the most heavenly wood I’ve ever smelled. That’s about all I have to say about this location.
As for the exterior shot from a distance, an entirely different house was used and it has stumped every Twin Peaks location expert I know, and the mystery continues to this day. Hopefully one day we’ll find it…it’s out there somewhere.
