Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me – Deer Meadow and Wind River Filming Locations

Welcome to the Deer Meadow Sheriff’s Department from Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me.  Home to Sheriff Cable and his deputies, it appears on the surface to be a set, but is actually a small home in Ollalie State Park, around 5 miles or so east of North Bend.  It’s hard to say what this little building exactly was during filming in 1991, but here’s what it looks like today.

Aside from a few paint jobs, it all basically looks the same, but unfortunately the shed outside where Teresa’s autopsy is performed is gone.

Below is an impromptu shot of me and my good friend Charles of intwinpeaks.com pretending to be Chester Desmond and Sam Stanley during one of our location outings.  The view of the ridge is right outside of the home.

Just a hundred yards or so from the front step is the filming location for Wind River, where the body of Teresa Banks is seen floating.  Now, to actually photograph the correct angle one must swim across the river and look back towards the direction of  the Sheriff’s Department.  Word to the wise, don’t try this during the winter like I did.  Not fun, but necessary.  Ok it was fun!
