Ghostbusters University

One of the wonderful things about stalking down filming locations for Ghostbusters is that everywhere looks the exact same as it did in the film.  Shooting in mostly iconic areas, the scenes look virtually unchanged over 25 years later and that includes Columbia University.

Though it was never referred to by name, Columbia stood in for where Egon, Ray and Pete conducted their paranormal research until they are expelled.  Here are some of the scenes as they look today.

One of my favorite scenes (above) is where Venkman talks Ray off the ledge and convinces him to invest in their Ghostbusters operation.  As a child I often quoted Venkman’s monologue, having no clue what I was actually saying.  You can find this location on the east end of the courtyard and up the stairs.

Moving on, you can find Weaver Hall which in reality is Havemeyer Hall if you go north and to the west from the main courtyard.  It took me awhile to find this and I had no map, in case you need a little guidance.

As for interior scenes, I am not sure if they were filmed here or in Los Angeles.
