The Old Place

If I had the choice of one last meal on this earth, it would be from this place.

I originally visited The Old Place, located in Cornell, CA because it was the filming location of the Bookhouse interiors from Twin Peaks in Season 1, Episode 3.  It is only used once in the series when Agent Cooper and Sheriff Truman interrogate Bernard Renault.  Lucky for us Twin Peaks fans it is almost exactly the same, even down to the wall decor.  The whole place smells older than dirt in the most wonderful possible way.

If you are a vegetarian you probably won’t be able to appreciate the small but incredible menu.  I absolutely have to recommend the steamed clams (shown below) as an appetizer and for your main entree I plead with you to try the beef stew or the 6 oz. filet (also shown below).  There is a really cool winery next door and because I was in the Twin Peaks mood I opted for an incredible red wine called The Queen of Hearts.  I think I may have to jump on their website right now and order a bottle.  Anyway, if you are a living/breathing Twin Peaks fan and/or carnivore you absolutely must check this place out.  Their hours of operation tend to change at the drop of a hat, so check out their website and call before you go-and also keep an eye out for Emilio Estevez.  He sat right down next to me at the bar and all I got out was “I’m a huge Mighty Ducks fan”.

Thanks to my buddy Brian K. for helping me find this location and to my wonderful wife for taking some of the pictures.
