Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – Cameron’s House

“The place is like a museum…its very beautiful, its very cold and you are not allowed to touch anything….”

Cameron Frye’s house was the first location I wanted to see as I’ve been perpetually fascinated by it since I was a little kid.  Filmed near the northern Chicago suburb of Highland Park, IL, Cameron’s House sits in the middle of a large and well-to-do residential area.  Growing up, I always imagined that Cameron’s House was deep in the woods and away from any neighborhoods.  Unfortunately the dream was shattered quickly as I noticed most angles of Cameron’s house were shot from the road.

There was a big fuss on the internet about Cameron’s house being for sale last year, but I failed to see any such signs.  It could very well still be for sale.  Maybe (hopefully) a wealthy fan will buy it and open it up to the public!  As seen in the photos, the filming area remains basically the same since filming in the fall of 1985 which is a huge relief.
